May’s misgovernment has basically ignored the problem of the Friday Accords and what happens to the Irish border in the event of Brexit. Boris Johnson has proposed loony and impractical schemes to sort it, May has ignored it, and the question is sitting and festering there.
May has refused all EU proposed solutions.
European Council President Donald Tusk said talks would be a case of “Ireland first” and that “the risk of destabilising the fragile peace process must be avoided at all costs”.
“We know today that the UK Government rejects a customs and regulatory border down the Irish Sea, the EU single market, and the customs union,” the Mr Tusk said.
What May has failed to come with is an alternative to the obvious solutions. Most likely because there isn’t one and Oor Theresa is still out of ideas, not having had too many to start with.
Tories couldn’t be trusted to organise a piss-up at a brewery, let alone anything as complicated as Brexit and what comes after it. May’s government is a total disaster and ought to quit before it does more damage.
